Swinburne would particularly appreciate your industry expertise in the on-going development of our future workforce. We plan to use this medium to identify people willing to provide learners exposure to their experience in one or more of the following ways:
* Validation of assessments and their relevance to industry practice
* Provision of real industry case studies
* Guest speaking
* Coaching/mentoring individual participants
* Sessional teaching
Below is more detail. Please indicate which activities you would be happy to participate in should Swinburne approach you. Please note: We are happy to offer refresher training in validation, coaching/mentoring, presenting or facilitating should you require it (please indicate below).
Participating in assessment validation
You may be asked to participate in up to two validations per year, to review a small number of assessments against specific criteria indicated on a checklist. This may either be done via email or by attending one or two meetings throughout the year. You may choose to validate TAA assessments or assessments in your own field of expertise (as indicated below).

You may be asked, or you may offer, to provide a typed case study of a particular situation within your organisation / industry, that you feel students could learn from.

Guest speaker
Having offered to be a guest speaker then you may be asked to present or teach on a particular topic on a one off basis. You will be asked based on your area of expertise as indicated below. Please note any particular topics of interest that you would be happy to present:

Coaching and/or Mentoring
You may be asked to coach or mentor one or two Learners studying the qualification you studied for or One in your area of expertise (as defined below). The time commitment would be negotiable.

Paid Sessional teaching
If you are interested in sessional teaching in your area of expertise (to further develop your skills for your current role), you may wish to lodge an expression of interest with the relevant department. You will need to submin a CV and attend an interview. Sessional teaching can require a commitment of one or more 2-3 hour session(s) a week during the day or evening for between 6-18 weeks. Some Saturdays may also be available in certain TAFE Departments. You will be paid for each class you deliver.
